The publisher began its activities in 1964 with the journal "El Bar". In 1985, it was incorporated, creating the company "Publicaciónes de Comercio Internacional," with the social objective to publish technical journals.

"El Bar" was responsible for promoting a campaign to support the weekly day of rest for bars and restaurants. Over the years, it had become the most important bi-weekly journal with garnering numerous awards. During its last 15 years, it organized numerous gastronomic conferences.
Moreover, Actualidad was the promoter and organizer of the first Ice Cream fair, the first Madrid Natural Stone and Funeral Parlor fair of Madrid, and with the award and prize giving to the most important restaurants and bars, both national and international.

The Journal Actualidad and El Bar have received several awards, among which are:
